SAN ANTONIO (AP) A man opened fired in a San Antonio movie theater parking lot last night, wounding one person. Bexar (bayr) County investigators say the shooting began around 9:30 p.m. when the man fired shots inside a nearby restaurant and then headed toward the theater. The gunman was shot by police.
SAN ANTONIO (AP) A San Antonio federal court is set to hear a request today from the family of a 15-year-old student who's fighting the use of tracking badges in her high school. Sophomore Andrea Hernandez is refusing to wear the badge containing an ID chip that tracks her location. School system officials say she has to transfer to another campus if she refuses to comply, but her family wants the court to force administrators to let her stay at the school.
AUSTIN, Texas (AP) Texas electors are gathering at the State Capitol today to cast the state's electoral votes for president and vice president. Republican Mitt Romney won Texas' 38 electoral votes, but lost to President Barack Obama.
NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (AP) Governor Rick Perry will be at a North Texas tea party event this evening. He'll be in North Richland Hills to try to shore up his base as he considers another term as governor and possibly a second presidential bid.
