AUSTIN, Texas (AP) The Texas Department of Veterans Affairs will begin a mortality study to track causes of death for veterans. The department is putting together a model that could allow similar data to be gathered nationwide.

DALLAS (AP) About $2.3 billion in investment and redevelopment has helped transform Dallas' downtown in the past 10 years. A new bridge, a deck park and the Perot Museum of Nature and Science have helped eliminate divides between downtown Dallas and other parts of the city.
