Brent has been indicted on charge of intoxication manslaughter.

WASHINGTON (AP) The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund says 10 police officers in Texas have died in the line of duty this year, more than any other state. Nationwide, it says 127 federal, state and local officers have died. There were 165 deaths last year.

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) Two National Rifle Association members say they will try again to push a plan to let Arlington teachers and administrators carry concealed guns. But the school board president opposes the idea. Police have officers posted at junior and senior high schools in Arlington.

HOUSTON (AP) Gasoline has become a little more expensive in Texas. AAA Texas says the price is up four cents per gallon this week to an average of $3.07. The group says a budget deal to avoid the "fiscal cliff" could send prices higher, while no deal could mean lower prices.
