HOUSTON (AP) Two Houston teenagers have been charged with capital murder for fatally shooting a man over his new Air Jordan sneakers. Eighteen-year-old Neal Bland and 19-year-old Kegan Arrington are charged in the December 21st slaying of Joshua Wood. Bland was arrested Friday, when Arrington was already in custody on an unrelated charge.
AUSTIN, Texas (AP) A grand jury in Texas has decided charges should not be brought against a woman who says she shot her boyfriend in self-defense. The Travis County grand jury returned a no bill last week for 43-year-old Lilah Moffett of Elgin. Moffett had never been arrested for the October 16th shooting of 34-year-old Billy Hysinger.
SAN ANTONIO (AP) The step-mother and father of a 5-year-old San Antonio boy who died have been arrested on charges of felony injury to a child. San Antonio police spokeswoman Sandy Gutierrez says that 27-year-old Crystal Williams and 25-year-old Charleston Williams were arrested Friday afternoon. Gutierrez said the medical examiner found signs of serious abuse, malnutrition and neglect on the body of Josiah Williams, who was found unresponsive on Thursday.
ATLANTA (AP) Police said two young boys from Georgia who were reported missing on Thursday have been located in Central Texas -- and their father is facing charges. Brothers Ben and Henry Cleary ages 9 and 7 were found in Austin, when their father Daniel Cleary was taken into custody this weekend. The children are being returned to their mother in Georgia.
