HOUSTON (AP) Former President George H.W. Bush remains hospitalized in Houston recovering from an illness. There was no update on his condition yesterday, but a family spokesman says the 88-year-old Bush had been moved back to a regular room at Methodist Hospital on Saturday. Bush was hospitalized November 23rd and moved to the intensive care unit on December 23rd after developing a fever.
HARGILL, Texas (AP) Three children have been killed in a South Texas house fire. Edinburg fire Chief Shawn Snider says the Hargill home was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived yesterday morning. Snider says the victims included a 3-year-old, a 1-year-old and a 15-day-old infant.
HOUSTON (AP) A Houston man has killed himself after allegedly stabbing to death the mother of his children. Houston police say the incident began with an argument Saturday morning between Steven Hancock and 29-year-old Delena Anderson. She died at an area hospital, and authorities say Hancock was later found dead from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
HOUSTON (AP) More than 1,000 people gathered to remember a Texas police officer who was shot and killed on Christmas Eve. Bellaire police Sergeant Jimmie Norman was remembered Saturday at Houston's First Baptist Church. Twenty-one-year-old Harlem Lewis has been charged with capital murder in Norman's death.
