MONTGOMERY, Texas (AP) Authorities say a Southeast Texas man has been arrested in the shooting death of his wife during an argument at their home after returning from a trip. The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office said yesterday that 56-year-old Donna Quinlan was shot several times with a handgun Sunday evening. She died at their home in Montgomery, located about 55 miles northwest of Houston. Fifty-eight-year-old Thomas Quinlan remains jailed on $500,000 bond.

HARGILL, Texas (AP) A South Texas sheriff says the preliminary investigation into a mobile home fire that killed three young children indicates the likely cause was an electrical problem. Hidalgo County Sheriff Lupe Trevino said yesterday that investigators found no evidence of arson and that space heaters in the home also did not cause the fire early Sunday morning.

DALLAS (AP) Texas A and M pass rusher Damontre Moore says he went back and forth before deciding that the Cotton Bowl will be his last game for the Aggies. Moore said yesterday he weighed a lot of pros and cons about foregoing his senior season to enter the NFL draft, where he's expected to be a top ten pick.

IRVING, Texas (AP) Peyton Manning will make his first trip to Cowboys Stadium with the Denver Broncos in 2013. And the Cowboys schedule is unlikely to get any easier in 2013 than it was in 2012 with playoff teams Green Bay, Minnesota and NFC East rival Washington coming to town.
