He was injured in early December after his patrol car hit a wet spot and went out of control while he was responding to a call.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) A man and his son died yesterday afternoon when their motorcycle hit a parked car in an Austin neighborhood. Authorities say the man and the boy, who was described as a juvenile, weren't wearing helmets.

HOUSTON (AP) Houston police are hoping to find witnesses after a New Year's Day shooting outside a nightclub. A 34-year-old died after he was shot outside Cube's Sports Bar. Authorities say the man had been involved in an argument with four other people before the attack.

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) Texas construction crews are preparing to begin work expanding Interstate 35E between Dallas and Denton. Work on the massive, $1 billion project is expected to begin later this year.
