CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (AP) A 22-year-old man has been arrested after barricading himself in a Corpus Christi apartment when police responding to reports of gunshots found an injured man in the parking lot. Police say the 35-year-old who was found shot in the parking lot early yesterday morning was taken to the hospital, where he died. The 22-year-old male alleged shooter surrendered peacefully after about an hour. Police have not released names of the man who died or the man in custody.

HOUSTON (AP) Houston police are looking for witnesses to come forward after a man was shot and killed in a nightclub parking lot. Sergeant Warren Meeler says a 34-year-old man was killed following an argument with four other patrons inside Cube's Sports Bar early in the morning of New Year's Day.

HOUSTON (AP) Authorities are searching for a driver accused of taking off after colliding with a Houston police patrol car in a wreck that caused minor injuries to the officer. A police spokesman says the officer was responding to an "assault in progress" early yesterday morning with her lights and sirens on when a driver failed to yield as she approached an intersection.

DALLAS (AP) Police say a Dallas firefighter and a pickup driver were injured when the driver hit a ladder truck as officials worked the scene of an earlier accident on Central Expressway. The ladder truck was blocking an accident scene early New Year's Day when a pickup rear ended it. The firefighter and pickup driver were taken to the hospital.
