AUSTIN, Texas (AP) The school finance trial resumes today in Austin after a holiday hiatus. More than 600 school districts are suing the state, claiming that billions in budget cuts are making school funding inadequate and inequitable.

GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) A mother and daughter from Cleveland, Texas are set to be sentenced today in Mississippi for robbing a bank last spring. Fifty-eight-year-old Evie Herrin and 30-year-old Amelia Crew each face up to 25 years in prison after they pleaded guilty.

LAKEHILLS, Texas (AP) A reservoir outside San Antonio is now so low that officials in one surrounding community say tourism's drying up along with the water. Medina Lake is at 9 percent capacity.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) State lawmakers will learn how much money they'll have for the next Texas budget. The comptroller will release a revenue estimate today, which sets the limit on what lawmakers can spend.
