FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) Police documents say the Iraq War veteran charged with killing a former Navy SEAL and his friend on a Texas shooting range told a relative he "traded his soul for a new truck." Eddie Ray Routh is charged in the shooting deaths of ex-Navy SEAL Chris Kyle and his friend Chad Littlefield on Saturday. Authorities say Routh was driving Kyle's pickup when he was arrested.

GEORGETOWN, Texas (AP) A Texas man who was wrongfully imprisoned for nearly 25 years in his wife's murder says he and his legal team were never informed that authorities knew his son said he saw someone else beat the woman to death. Michael Morton was released in 2011 after DNA testing showed he didn't kill his wife. Morton says someone must be held accountable for his years in prison.

HOUSTON (AP) Houston police say a woman whose body was found in a parking lot was killed by someone who repeatedly drove over her body. Authorities say the killing doesn't appear random and is likely a case of domestic violence. Detectives are reviewing video from a nearby security camera to see if the attack was recorded.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) A judge has ruled that the tax system Texas uses to finance public schools is unconstitutional. District Judge John Dietz yesterday ruled in favor of more than 600 school districts. Dietz determined the state Legislature has not adequately funded schools as required under the Texas Constitution.
