HOUSTON (AP) Three Houston-area deputies have been fired amid allegations they had consensual sex with a female law enforcement volunteer while in their patrol cars. The Harris County Sheriff's Office says improper conduct will not be tolerated. The department on Monday fired Deputies Adam Wright, Michael Medina and Robert Johnson.
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (AP) A man who robbed the same South Texas bank twice last year has pleaded guilty and faces up to 20 years in prison. A federal judge yesterday accepted the plea from 52-year-old Nicholas Tolmie. Investigators say Tolmie held up Texas Champion Bank in Corpus Christi last July and November.
DALLAS (AP) A North Texas jury continues to deliberate the punishment of a man convicted of a 2011 mutilation attack that left his former girlfriend needing more than 500 stitches. Jurors could sentence Jose Arreola to up to life in prison. The jury deliberated for three hours yesterday before recessing for the night.
IRVING, Texas (AP) The Boy Scouts of America's policy excluding gay members and leaders could be up for a vote as soon as today. The organization announced last week it's considering allowing troops to decide whether to allow gay membership. BSA executive board meetings began Monday in Irving, where the scouting headquarters is located.
