GRAPEVINE, Texas (AP) A Dallas hospital spokeswoman says a Florida detective wounded by a prisoner who was escaping has been released by doctors. Miami-Dade Detective Jaime Pardinas was released yesterday morning. Police say Pardinas suffered deep stab wounds to the neck, shoulder and back and a collapsed lung Monday when prisoner Alberto Morales stabbed him using a sharp piece from a pair of eyeglasses during a stop in Grapevine. Morales escaped and was fatally shot early yesterday when he allegedly resisted arrest following a five-day manhunt.
AMARILLO, Texas (AP) Stanley Marsh the Third, an eccentric millionaire artist best known for his "Cadillac Ranch" art display along an interstate in the Texas Panhandle, has settled lawsuits from 10 teenagers who allege he paid them for sex acts. The Amarillo Globe-News reports Marsh's attorneys made the announcement yesterday.

Republican Party of New Mexico Chairman John Billingsley announced that George P. Bush will be the keynote speaker at RPNM's annual Lincoln Day Dinner on March 23rd.
HOUSTON (AP) The trio of Miami's Chris Bosh, WNBA star Swin Cash and Hall of Famer Dominique Wilkins won the Shooting Stars competition that kicked off All-Star Saturday night in Houston. Bosh's group beat the team of Oklahoma City guard Russell Westbrook, Maya Moore of the WNBA and former Houston Rocket Robert Horry. The NBA All-Star game tips off at 7:30 tonight.
