SAN ANTONIO (AP) A military judge in South Texas has dismissed a sexual misconduct case against an Air Force trainer because evidence was wrongly taken from his stolen cellphone. Prosecutors at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland have until tomorrow to appeal in the case of Samuel Wicks. The judge ruled yesterday investigators didn't have a warrant when they took texts and other information from the airman's cellphone.

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas (AP) Dozens of law officers have raided the South Texas headquarters of The Scooter Store in an alleged fraud investigation. Authorities were seen yesterday carrying out a search warrant at the New Braunfels headquarters of the company. The Scooter Store earlier this month cut 150 jobs and blamed pending government changes in claims processing and reimbursement.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) The Texas Department of Public Safety has expanded its efforts to solve cold case murders by offering an online update on a dozen investigations. DPS officials yesterday unveiled the Texas Rangers unsolved homicides website featuring two cases from each of the agency's six regions. Director Steve McCraw says the agency wants to send a clear message that investigators aren't giving up on the victims.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) The Texas House is expected to take up a supplemental spending bill to close a $4 billion budget deficit. Lawmakers in 2011 passed a budget that didn't set aside enough money to pay for Medicaid. House Appropriations Chairman Jim Pitts has introduced an emergency bill that will be debated today.
