WACO, Texas (AP) A Killeen man was sentenced to 40 years in prison yesterday for sex trafficking after authorities say he recruited teenagers into prostitution. Authorities say 27-year-old Jerome Cole ran a prostitution ring using computers and websites to lure girls and then advertise their services.

DEL RIO, Texas (AP) A police officer in a Texas border city is facing up to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to having a stolen rifle. Eagle Pass Officer Eriberto Leija (ehr-ee-BEHR'-toh LAY'-huh) is free on bond.

EL PASO, Texas (AP) The ex-owner of an El Paso law enforcement uniform shop was sentenced to two years in federal prison for smuggling ammunition into Mexico. Hector Ayala also has to forfeit about 8,600 rounds of ammo and $1 million worth of military and law enforcement gear.

DALLAS (AP) The man who's in line to lead American Airlines after its merger with US Airways will announce a new management team before closing the deal. US Airways CEO Doug Parker also says he'll give current executives with Fort Worth-based American a chance to remain in their jobs.
