CYPRESS, Texas (AP) Investigators searching for the parents of a newborn girl abandoned near a Houston-area apartment complex have released sketches of what her parents might look like. Caregivers say the baby was about an hour old when discovered February 19th wrapped in a plastic bag at the complex in Cypress.

PLANO, Texas (AP) A man accused of trying to blow up a natural gas pipeline near Dallas is mentally fit to stand trial. Lawyers for Anson Chi (chee) have described him as "delusional" but a judge says his case can go forward. Chi was charged after a homemade bomb damaged a natural gas regulator in Plano last June.

MOODY, Texas (AP) A wildfire is threatening some homes in Central Texas. Authorities say a campfire flared out of control yesterday at Mother Neff State Park in Bell County and the fire has spread to Coryell County. It's burned about 175 acres in a rugged area.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) The National Cotton Council says Texas farmers intend to plant about 4.9 million acres this year. State agriculture officials say cotton plantings in the state this year may drop by as much as 25 percent.
