SAN ANTONIO (AP) A third South Texas man linked to a sex ring that in 2007 forced a 13-year-old girl into prostitution has been sentenced to prison in a plea deal. Twenty-three-year-old Nicolas Davila was sentenced Monday to 15 years in prison. Brothers "Spider" Moreno and Juan Moreno are serving life sentences for convictions in the child sex case.

DENTON, Texas (AP) The president of the University of North Texas has announced plans to retire by the end of the year. V. Lane Rawlins released a statement saying he will continue to lead the Denton school until a new president is named. The 75-year-old Rawlins has served as UNT president since 2010.

HOUSTON (AP) A downtown Houston department store that opened in 1947 will soon close. A Macy's spokeswoman says she expects the store to end its 66-year run on Saturday. The building opened in 1947 as the flagship Foley's department store before the chain was rebranded to Macy's.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) Microsoft founder Bill Gates will help dedicate a new computer science center at the University of Texas named in his and his wife's honor. The Bill and Melinda Gates Computer Science Center and Dell Computer Science Hall are being dedicated today. Bill Gates is scheduled to deliver an address at the center this afternoon.
