LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) Parts of Texas went without rain in February, deepening the state's inability to overcome a drought that began two years ago. National Weather Service rainfall maps show that southwest Texas received no rain last month, while southern areas of the state saw no more than a tenth of an inch.

NEW YORK (AP) A New York State Supreme Court Judge has ordered Macy's, J.C. Penney and Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia into mediation. The three corporations will seek to resolve a contract dispute concerning a partnership over the Martha Stewart brand. Plano-based Penney says it won't sell any products that are deemed exclusive by Macy's before April 8th, when the hearings resume.

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) Federal authorities in North Texas say two people forced a 15-year-old girl to work as a prostitute for five months before she was able to flee. A federal count of sex trafficking of a child was filed against 27-year-old Deundrea Miller of Fort Worth and 21-year-old Brittanie Brattain of the Fort Worth suburb of Saginaw. They remained in custody today.

DALLAS (AP) What the TV ads touting Texans' love of pickup trucks won't tell you is that so do Texas thieves. Ford, Chevy and Dodge pickups top the Texas Department of Public Safety's list of vehicles most reported as stolen last year. The prevention authority, part of the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles, says confirmed vehicle thefts cost Texans more than any other single crime.
