EL PASO, Texas (AP) Raymond Telles, El Paso's first Hispanic elected mayor and a former U.S. ambassador to Costa Rica, has died at the age of 97. Cynthia Ann Telles told KTSM-TV of El Paso that her father died Friday in Sherman Oaks, California where he'd been living. Raymond Telles served as El Paso's mayor from 1957 to 1961.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) A former University of Texas women's track equipment manager has been sentenced to two years in state jail for secretly videotaping a student-athlete as she dressed in a shower locker room. The Travis County jury deliberated about four hours before giving 32-year-old Rene Zamora the maximum sentence on each of six counts on Friday. The sentences will be served concurrently.

LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) Louisiana State Police have now charged a Texas woman with first-degree vehicular homicide after a passenger in the vehicle she was driving died from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash. A State Police spokesman says 74-year-old Millie Powell of Port Arthur, Texas was initially charged with first-degree vehicular negligent injury after the March 1st accident.

COUPLAND, Texas (AP) A Central Texas couple is battling to get its construction equipment and family heirlooms back after workers mistakenly emptied their barn rather than their neighbor's foreclosed home. Mike Moors says the Ohio company whose employees erred hasn't told him where his things are. He discovered his metal barn in Coupland, 25 miles northeast of Austin, had been cleaned out in January.
