CYPRESS, Texas (AP) A 20-year-old man from suburban Houston has been charged in a stabbing spree at a community college that injured at least 14 people. Authorities say Dylan Quick faces three counts of aggravated assault in yesterday's attack at Lone Star Community College in Cypress. The Harris County Sheriff's Office says Quick used a "razor-type knife" to cut his victims.

HUNTSVILLE, Texas (AP) A Texas man with a lengthy criminal history has been executed for shooting a man to death and raping the slain man's fiancee. Fifty-year-old Rickey Lynn Lewis received a lethal injection yesterday for the murder of 45-year-old George Newman in 1990. No last-day appeals were filed to try to delay the punishment.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) A proposal advancing in the Texas Capitol would make it legal to carry switchblade knives. Representative Harold Dutton presented the bill to the House Criminal Jurisprudence Committee yesterday. Under current law, switchblades appear on a list of prohibited arms with explosives, machine guns and chemical weapons.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) Google says tech-savvy Austin, Texas, will be the next city to receive the company's ultra-fast Internet service starting next year. Google yesterday didn't reveal how much Austin customers will pay for Google Fiber. The service is about 100 times faster than a basic cable modem.
