BIG SPRING, Texas (AP) West Texas authorities say another man has died in the second fatal oilfield-related accident in a week. The Howard County Sheriff's Office says Earthco employees were working Thursday on a large heater tank used to prepare oil for transport when it rolled onto a man. The 59-year-old man was pinned against another piece of equipment. Juan Manual Estrada-Duarte of Big Spring was taken to a hospital where he later died. Earthco is based in Big Spring.
WEATHERFORD, Okla. (AP) Two North Texas teenagers were killed and a third was critically injured when a tractor-trailer rig's dual wheels broke from the rig and crashed into the Jeep carrying the teenagers in western Oklahoma. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 15-year-old Abigail Key and 17-year-old Chance Clifton both of Richland Hills, Texas, were killed in the crash Friday on Interstate 40 just east of Weatherford, Oklahoma.
AUSTIN, Texas (AP) The superintendent of a Dallas-area state mental hospital where a review found a woman died amid poor medical care has resigned. The Austin American-Statesman reports Doctor Joe Finch quit as superintendent of Terrell (TEHR'-ehl) State Hospital this week.
DALLAS (AP) Former President George W. Bush will return to Africa next week to help renovate another women's clinic. Bush's office in Dallas yesterday announced the 43rd president and his wife, Laura, will travel to Livingstone, Zambia, in support of the George W. Bush Institute global health initiative.
