ROUND ROCK, Texas (AP) Central Texas authorities say officers shot and killed a woman after she pointed a gun at them. Round Rock police say officers found 31-year-old Sarah Harrington in front of City Hall on Sunday night after responding to a report about a woman carrying a weapon. Authorities say Harrington was shot after pointing the weapon at the officers.

AMARILLO, Texas (AP) A 47-year-old man from Austria has died after falling into a ravine near a trail in Palo Duro Canyon. The Randall County sheriff's office says the man was found dead yesterday evening after being missing for several hours. The man had been hiking with a friend before he went missing.

HOUSTON (AP) Plans to turn the deteriorating Houston Astrodome into a convention center and exhibition space are set to be presented to Harris County leaders. Commissioners in Houston will officially receive the proposal during a meeting today. Last week, the Harris County Sports & Convention Corporation voted to recommend the project, dubbed "The New Dome Experience."

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) A new cologne set to debut this summer is being touted to smell like Aggie spirit. Masik Collegiate Fragrances plans to begin selling a Texas A&M scent in mid-August. Company president Katie Masich says the mixed aromas of rose, vanilla and apple are meant to evoke the school colors of maroon and white.
