WACO, Texas (AP) An autopsy says a 23-year-old Baylor University student who died after collapsing near the finish line of a half-marathon died of natural causes. The Dallas County medical examiner's report showed Daniel Jones died of hypertensive cardiovascular disease, with stress associated with exercise as a contributing factor. Jones died in March after collapsing in the Bearathon event.
DAYTON, Texas (AP) Authorities have killed the dog that eluded them for nearly two days after mauling a Southeast Texas woman to death. A Liberty County deputy shot and killed the dog last night. Authorities have said the stray that 63-year-old Linda Oliver had been feeding in recent weeks turned on her Monday when she tried to stop it from attacking her dog.
DALLAS (AP) The Texas Department of Public Safety has referred to the Dallas County prosecutors the case of a deadly casino bus crash that troopers blamed on the driver. The DPS concluded that the April 11thh crash on Texas 161 in Irving was the fault of driver Loyd Rieve. Three women were killed in the wreck.
SAGINAW, Texas (AP) Federal, state and local authorities are trying to reconstruct the finals hours of life for a young girl found dead and wrapped in a tarp. Meanwhile, the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office has scheduled an autopsy today for the girl. Two teenagers found the body in an intersection in suburban Fort Worth.
