GRAPEVINE, Texas (AP) An upgraded payment system for drivers leaving Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport has been delayed. The new automated parking control system had been scheduled to begin today. The existing system will continue without any loss to service.
AUSTIN, Texas (AP) The Texas House Public Safety Committee will hear updates today on the driver's responsibility surcharge program. The program assesses points on drivers for moving violations and charges extra fees for driving while intoxicated. The committee will also hear from the Department of Insurance, the State Fire Marshall and other agencies.
WEST, Texas (AP) Students in West whose schools were damaged or destroyed by a fertilizer plant explosion will start school today in familiar buildings. Students in preschool through fifth grade will attend classes at West Elementary. Other grades will attend classes in portable rooms. West Middle School will be demolished. The high school is still being evaluated.
AUSTIN, Texas (AP) Former U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi will visit Austin today. She's expected to talk about an economic agenda for women at the Eastview Campus of Austin Community College. Austin Mayor Pro Tem Sheryl Cole is also expected to address the audience for Women's Equality Day.
