FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) An airline employee and eight workers for the federal airport security-screening agency have been arrested on charges related to the theft and resale of parking passes at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. Airport police said yesterday that 129 employee parking passes were stolen in March from an airport office of Fort Worth-based American Eagle airlines. Police said that some passes were sold for $100 each to Transportation Security Administration employees, who used them to park in airport employee lots.
EL PASO, Texas (AP) Almost two dozen members of a suspected El Paso drug ring, including some members of the Barrio Azteca gang, have been arrested. Texas Department of Public Safety officials said Thursday the 23 arrests were made Wednesday and Thursday in the multi-agency operation. They tell the El Paso Times that two additional suspects are still sought.
HOUSTON (AP) Oilfield services company Baker Hughes Incorporated says Texas shut down eight oil and gas rigs this week. West Texas Intermediate futures priced at Oklahoma's Cushing pipeline hub climbed to $110.27 yesterday as tensions remained high in the Middle East.
SAN ANTONIO (AP) The owner of 15 horses seized from a San Antonio property has been arrested on animal cruelty charges. The San Antonio Express-News reports 38-year-old Guadalupe Sanchez was arrested Thursday. The horses were seized on Sunday. Sanchez had been keeping the horses on a friend's property.
