DALLAS (AP) Police have issued an arrest warrant for a man wanted in connection with at least one of the nine sexual assaults they are investigating in south Dallas. The department announced yesterday evening that DNA results provided a match for 38-year-old Van Dixson, who remains at-large. Nine women so far have been attacked by what authorities suspect may be the same rapist.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) U.S. Senator Ted Cruz of Texas will speak at a Utah fundraiser next week for U.S. Senator Mike Lee of Utah. A spokesman for Senator Lee tells the Deseret News that the $2,000-per-person event will be held Friday. Lee was an early supporter of Cruz, who was elected to the Senate last year.
LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) Buddy Holly's hometown will celebrate his 77th birthday with a small amount of fanfare. His former band-mates from Buddy Holly and the Crickets visited Lubbock Friday to open the childhood home of drummer Jerry Allison, which is now on display after extensive renovations. The Lubbock Avalanche-Journal reports the Buddy Holly Center opened its doors for free on Saturday, which would have been Holly's 77th birthday.
ROSCOE, Neb. (AP) The Nebraska State Patrol says a 48-year-old North Texas man has died after crashing his motorcycle on Interstate 80 in western Nebraska. The patrol says Christian Boyce of Dallas died in the crash that happened just before noon Friday east of Paxton, Nebraska.
