UNDATED (AP) Parts of Texas have been getting soaked as rain and cooler temperatures make their way into the state. Oncor (ON'-kor) on Friday reported more than 26,000 North Texas homes and businesses lost electricity amid the storms. Most of the power outages are in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
DALLAS (AP) A South Dallas crime-watch volunteer facing four rape charges has been returned to Texas after being captured last week in Louisiana. Van Dixson is charged with four counts of aggravated sexual assault. Police say DNA evidence links Dixson to at least four rapes in the Fair Park area of South Dallas.
HOUSTON (AP) A Houston craft brewery is releasing a limited-edition beer called Sick in the Head to honor a beer adviser and bartender's fight against brain cancer. Buffalo Bayou Brewing beer is in honor of beer manager Joey Williams. Each 22-ounce bottle will sell for $10. The Christus Stehlin Foundation for Cancer Research gets $3 of every bottle.
DETROIT (AP) The Association of Art Museum Curators plans to hold its annual conference in Detroit instead of Houston. The association is moving the May conference as a show of support for the Detroit Institute of Arts. The museum's future has been the subject of increased attention following the city's Chapter 9 bankruptcy filing.
