Obama made the remarks during an Associated Press interview this weekend after being asked about senators such as Republicans Ted Cruz of Texas and Rand Paul of Kentucky who are playing high-profile roles during their first terms by opposing Obama's agenda.
ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) A 17-year-old nursing student at the University of Texas at Arlington has died of injuries from a three-story fall from an apartment balcony Wednesday night. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office says Ebony Warner of Austin died Friday afternoon at a hospital from her injuries.
WALL, Texas (AP) Authorities say an 87-year-old West Texas woman is dead after she was attacked by a swarm of bees at her home. Tom Green County sheriff's deputies tell the San Angelo Standard-Times Bessie Wilde was dead by the time deputies, volunteer firefighters and emergency medical technicians arrived at her home Thursday afternoon.
HOUSTON (AP) Federal agents have detonated a "potentially volatile substance" behind a Houston home where the FBI on Friday conducted a search. FBI spokeswoman Shauna Dunlap says no one's been arrested but the controlled detonation yesterday afternoon was intended for the safety of the public and authorities at the scene. She wouldn't elaborate on the nature of the material blown up.
