DALLAS (AP) Cathy Frye and Rick McFarland have survived the kind of ordeal they typically cover in their work for the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. The pair was stranded and lost in Texas' remote Big Bend Ranch State Park. McFarland was able to find his car, drive to a ranger's station and help launch a search-and-rescue operation that found Frye on Sunday.
HOUSTON (AP) Federal officials are silent on why they raided homes in Texas and Michigan that property records indicate are owned by a Houston art appraiser. The FBI says agents Saturday touched off two detonations at a Texas home but did not say what they were detonating. Records show the homes are owned by art appraiser Cecily Horton.
HOUSTON (AP) Houston police say a 13-year-old bystander has been shot in the head during a disturbance as he visited friends at an apartment complex. The boy is in critical condition. Houston police are trying to determine what prompted the fight.
DALLAS (AP) An exhibit has opened at a Dallas museum exploring the 25-year career of contemporary American artist Jim Hodges. "Jim Hodges: Give More Than You Take," opened Sunday at the Dallas Museum of Art. The exhibit is the first comprehensive survey of Hodges' work to be organized in the U.S.
