AUSTIN, Texas (AP) Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott says Texas' economy is the nation's strongest and it'll remain that way if he's elected governor. Addressing the Texas Association of Realtors today, Abbott said the state leads America in job growth over the past 10 years.
HOUSTON (AP) Retail gasoline prices have continued to decline across Texas with the average price at the pump dropping by a nickel this week. Triple A Texas reports today the average cost for gasoline statewide slipped to $3.11 per gallon. The association survey found Fort Worth has the cheapest gasoline at $3.06 per gallon. The Austin-San Marcos area and Amarillo have the highest retail gasoline prices this week at $3.15 per gallon.
DALLAS (AP) One of Francisco Goya's last paintings, a portrait of his only grandson, has been acquired by the Meadows Museum. The portrait of Mariano Goya from 1827 will be unveiled to the public tomorrow at the museum on Southern Methodist University campus in Dallas. The museum focused on Spanish art didn't disclose the purchase price.
AUSTIN, Texas (AP) Mack Brown says he does his best to ignore all the speculation about his future as the Texas football coach. He wants no part of any discussion about whether his job is on the line when the Longhorns play rival Oklahoma in Dallas this Saturday at the Cotton Bowl. The Sooners have led the series since Mack Brown became head coach at UT.
