AUSTIN, Texas (AP) A man's body has been recovered from a flooded Central Texas creek. Investigators are trying to determine whether the death was related to recent storms. Police have no recent reports of a missing person matching the description of the body. An autopsy has been ordered.
MISSION BEND, Texas (AP) Authorities are seeking a fake police officer who flashed a badge and three other gunmen after a home invasion near Houston left one person hurt. A man with a badge on a chain approached the house around midday Monday. Authorities say three other men barged into the house and held the man, his son and his daughter-in-law at gunpoint.
ABILENE, Texas (AP) A military judge is expected to rule today on a motion in the court martial of a Dyess Air Force Base airman. At the time of the alleged offenses Christopher Perez lived with Tiffany Klapheke (klah-PEEK'). Klapheke said her husband's deployment made her too stressed to take care of their three children. That led to the death of her 22-month-old daughter from malnutrition and dehydration in August 2012.
DALLAS (AP) Court documents indicate Six Flags denies any liability in the death of a roller coaster rider in part because it was not the manufacturer or designer. Rosa Esparza fell 75 feet to her death while riding the Texas Giant roller coaster in July. Six Flags also pointed out that about 2.5 million people had been on the roller coaster before the incident.
