Cruz is addressing a Texas Medical Association conference Saturday in Austin. He's giving a congressional update on the nation's new health care law.
FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) Fort Worth and several other individuals and cities have sued Oklahoma City-based Chesapeake Energy claiming the company underpaid natural gas royalties. The Star-Telegram reported on Friday that the lawsuit was filed in a Tarrant County district court.
FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) The North Texas teenager accused of kidnapping and killing a 6-year-old girl has been indicted on a charge of attempted capital murder in the shooting of a police officer. Tarrant County prosecutors say 17-year-old Tyler Holder was charged Thursday with capital murder in the July slaying of Alanna Gallagher, but the charge has not yet been presented to a grand jury.
STAFFORD, Texas (AP) A tow truck driver has found the body of a man shot to death in the back seat of a Cadillac on a suburban Houston road. Stafford police say the body was found early yesterday on the side of a road. They say the driver of the Cadillac has also been shot, but his wounds are not life-threatening. The names and ages of the victims have not been released.
