DENTON, Texas (AP) A small North Texas town's former high school quarterback is jailed after he was charged with torching a school trustee's home. William Wojciak (WOY'-chak) has been in Denton County Jail since Wednesday. The 18-year-old is charged with burglary leading to arson in an October 2nd fire that destroyed much of Donna Hooper's home and killed her pets. Bond is set at $300,000.
CLAYTON, Okla. (AP) The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says an East Texas man has been found dead with the wreckage of a small airplane in southeastern Oklahoma. The OHP says the body of 54-year-old Stephen Hardin of Terrell was found yesterday morning southwest of Sardis Lake in northern Pushmataha County.
CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) The Houston company that chartered the oil research ship seized by Venezuela's navy a week ago in disputed waters says the vessel and its crew have been released. A spokesman for Anadarko Petroleum says the Panamanian-flagged Teknik Perdana departed Friday from its anchorage off Venezuela's Margarita Island. He did not say where it was headed. The ship's Ukrainian captain was charged with violating Venezuela's exclusive economic zone but allowed to leave with the rest of the crew.
COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel was injured in Number 7 Texas A and M's loss to Number 24 Auburn, but has returned after sitting out one series. Manziel was injured when he was tackled on an 8-yard run early in the fourth quarter.
