UNDATED (AP) Heavy rain is bringing a flash-flood watch to northern and northeastern Texas. East Texas and the Texas Gulf Coast are expected to have a second day of rain tomorrow. The National Weather Service says the sun is expected to shine over Texas through the weekend. But the state is expected to get off to a wet start to the week Monday.
AUSTIN, Texas (AP) Governor Rick Perry plans to cast his ballot as part of early voting. There are nine proposed amendments to the Texas Constitution. Perry hasn't said how he plans to vote but has been a vocal supporter of a proposed amendment to take $2 billion from the state's Rainy Day Fund to pay for water infrastructure projects.
TERRELL, Texas (AP) Investigators are seeking a motive behind a bloody rampage in a small North Texas town that left five people dead. Terrell Police Chief Jody Lay says he thinks Charles Everett Brownlow Jr. might have attacked others if an off-duty officer hadn't seen his car. He was held on one preliminary count each of capital murder and evading arrest. Additional charges are expected.
PLANO, Texas (AP) Federal prosecutors have scheduled a news conference to outline what they describe as the settlement of major visa fraud and immigration abuse case. The U.S. Attorney's office in Plano refused to describe the case in advance of today's announcement. It comes amid reports that Indian technology outsourcing giant Infosys has agreed to pay a record fine.
