MIDLAND, Mich. (AP) Dow Chemical wants to spin off or sell about 40 manufacturing plants as it moves away from cyclical commodity products. Facilities in Freeport, Texas, are among those that would be spun off or sold.

DALLAS (AP) Federal officials are seeking a $325,000 penalty against Southwest Airlines Co. over a faulty repair job on an AirTran jet in 2011.
