SAN ANTONIO (AP) A teenager is receiving many happy returns after turning in an envelope stuffed with $1,600 that she found while sweeping floors at work. Seventeen-year-old Kayla Blackmon turned the money over to managers at Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers in San Antonio, and a man later returned to claim it. The customer, who intended to use the money for a Christmas vacation, gave Blackmon $100. The restaurant owner gave her a $100 gift card and she also was chosen employee of the month.

WASHINGTON (AP) Big multimillion-dollar water project bills used to be a favorite target of good-government reformers who demonized them as filled with political pork. Now Republicans and Democrats, conservatives and liberals are rallying behind a bill they hope to pass early next year authorizing up to $12.5 billion over the next decade for dozens of water projects. Projects include widening a Texas-Louisiana waterway serving oil refineries.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) A woman has been arrested after police saw her defacing a well-known Austin mural painted by Texas singer-songwriter Daniel Johnston. An affidavit says 32-year-old Rebecca Guest was arrested Christmas Eve and charged with a Class A misdemeanor for the act of graffiti. An obscene word was spray-painted several times on the mural, which depicts a frog-like creature saying "Hi, How Are You." Guest told police that she believed the mural was offensive and meant to personally insult her.
