FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) A Fort Worth police captain has surrendered on a warrant issued in connection with an alleged domestic disturbance last month. The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports jail records show Captain Duane Paul did a "walk-through" at the Tarrant County Jail this morning, turning himself in on a warrant for assault with bodily injury of a family member and immediately posting bond.

SAN ANTONIO (AP) A 6-year-old girl who had just purchased candy from an ice cream truck in San Antonio was killed when the vehicle backed over her. Police say April Soliz had leapt onto the rear bumper of the truck Thursday afternoon as the driver backed up to turn around on a dead-end street. But the child fell and was caught under a tire. The San Antonio Express News reports a 10-year-old girl who was with April alerted the driver.

LEAGUE CITY, Texas (AP) A 59-year-old man has been found dead after firefighters battled a fire at his house in Southeast Texas. League City Fire Chief Brad Goudie tells the Galveston County Daily News that when crews arrived early Friday morning, they found the League City house engulfed in flames.

HOUSTON (AP) Interim coach Wade Phillips doesn't know who will start at quarterback for the Texans in Sunday's season finale at Tennessee. Phillips says Case Keenum was limited in practice Friday because he was sore and that the decision on who will start will be made Sunday.
