He was arrested Tuesday after an indictment linked him to a Weslaco-based drug trafficking organization.

SAN ANTONIO (AP) A federal judge in San Antonio has sentenced a former Army sergeant to 28 years in prison after she pleaded guilty to a charge that she recorded herself having sex with her 3-year-old son. Judge Fred Biery told 25-year-old Kimberly Epperson before sentencing her yesterday that she had effectively sentenced her son to life because the boy would have 70 years or more to remember and relive the abuse. Her ex-boyfriend was sentenced to 30 years in the case.

SAN ANGELO, Texas (AP) Authorities say a 28-year-old West Texas man was attacked by five pit bulls while riding his bike and was hospitalized with puncture wounds to his arms and legs. Tom Green County sheriff's office says deputies located the owner of one of the dogs from Thursday's attack in Carlsbad and advised the owner to quarantine the animal.

HOUSTON (AP) A judge has denied bail for a white Houston-area man charged with a federal hate crime for allegedly sucker-punching a 79-year-old black man in a "knockout game"-style attack. U.S. Magistrate Judge Frances Stacy said yesterday that she was concerned about 27-year-old Conrad Barrett being free after hearing about the "vicious" crime.
