DALLAS (AP) At least seven people were hurt when more than a dozen vehicles wrecked on an Interstate 30 bridge over a Dallas-area lake during fog. Lanes were fully re-opened by dusk yesterday after the pileup on the I-30 bridge over Lake Ray Hubbard. A dense fog advisory was in effect at the time of the accidents before dawn Friday.

DALLAS (AP) A jury has been seated for the trial of former Dallas Cowboys player Josh Brent, who's accused of killing a practice squad player in a drunken-driving wreck. Attorneys selected the jury of Dallas County residents yesterday after two days of questioning. Opening statements in the case are scheduled for Monday.

HOUSTON (AP) A Houston man accused of misleading voters who elected him a community college trustee believes he will keep his seat, despite a lawsuit seeking to disqualify him as not living in his district. Dave Wilson says he plans to attend his first meeting of the Houston Community College board next week. A judge took no action in the lawsuit on Friday.

CONROE, Texas (AP) A Houston-area woman has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for beating her 5-year-old son and slashing his throat in an effort to rid his body of demons. A Montgomery County jury convicted Daphne Spurlock on Thursday of injury to a child.
