NEW YORK (AP) Luxury merchant Neiman Marcus says thieves may have stolen customers' credit card and debit card information and made unauthorized charges over the holiday season. The hacking marks the second retailer after Target Corporation to be a victim of a cyber-security attack in recent weeks. Neiman Marcus's spokeswoman Ginger Reeder says that the Dallas-based retailer is working with the Secret Service.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) Former President George W. Bush is calling ex-Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon "a warrior for the ages." Governor Rick Perry is mourning the loss of "an uncompromising patriot." The Israeli soldier-turned-politician-turned statesman died on Saturday, eight years after a stroke put him in a coma. He was 85.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) Tea party-backed, first term state Representative Scott Turner says he wants to challenge fellow Republican Joe Straus for the speakership of the Texas House. Turner is a former professional football player from Frisco. The Austin American Statesman reports he said via Twitter on Friday he's "excited to announce I have just filed to run for Speaker of the Texas House." Straus of San Antonio has been speaker since 2009, but has been criticized by some conservatives for working too closely with Democrats.

DALLAS (AP) Dallas County has confirmed 26 flu-related deaths since September as health officials urge people to get vaccinated. Officials with Dallas County Health and Human Services on Friday announced nine additional flu deaths. Authorities earlier in the week announced 17 confirmed flu deaths.
