DALLAS (AP) Parades and celebrations have been scheduled across Texas to honor Martin Luther King Jr. on the federal holiday in his name. A ceremony is planned Monday in San Marcos to dedicate a steel sculpture of the slain civil rights leader and President Lyndon B. Johnson that commemorates efforts by both men on civil rights legislation and their Oval Office meeting. Parades are planned in Fort Worth and Houston. Austin holds a community march. An MLK dinner will be held Monday night in Abilene.

DALLAS (AP) The George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum will begin accepting Freedom of Information Act requests for records from Bush's presidency Monday. Access to the records is governed by the Presidential Records Act, which says the records may be requested by the public five years after the presidential administration ends.

BRYAN, Texas (AP) Relatives of a 9-year-old Bryan girl have been charged for holding her down in water in a bathtub as punishment for acting up in school. The girl's mother, father, grandmother and grandmother's roommate are charged with abandoning or endangering a child. Police say the girl described it "like a baptism" during which she would be asked a question and held under water by her grandmother, father and grandmother's roommate.

DALLAS (AP) Dallas police are investigating after finding a fatally wounded man in an intersection and then following a blood trail to a home where another person was found shot to death. Detectives on Sunday found a man shot and collapsed in an intersection, then followed a blood trail to a home where they also found secured another man dead from multiple gunshot wounds.
