ABILENE, Texas (AP) A West Texas woman convicted in the starvation death of her 22-month-old daughter has been sentenced to 30 years in prison. Jurors in Abilene issued the sentence Thursday night in the case of 23-year-old Tiffany Klapheke (kla-PEEK'). She faced up to life in prison after being found guilty Wednesday of injury to a child in the 2012 death of her daughter, Tamryn. Prosecutors say Klapheke had kept Tamryn locked in a room for four days before she found her dead in her crib and called 911.

SAN ANTONIO (AP) Police say they believe a body found in suburban San Antonio is that of a Colorado woman missing nearly four weeks. Garden Ridge police believe the body found Thursday is that of 33-year-old Leanne Bearden. Police say Bearden's ID and jewelry were found with the body. An autopsy was planned.

McALLEN, Texas (AP) A new federal indictment has been unsealed in San Antonio charging a former Mexican state finance minister in a money laundering conspiracy. The U.S. attorney's office says Hector Javier Villarreal Hernandez, former finance minister in the Mexican state of Coahuila, turned himself in to U.S. authorities in El Paso yesterday.

DALLAS (AP) Dallas police say a 27-year-old man they've linked to attacks on three women may have been involved in as many as 10 more assaults. Jesus Madrid-Dubon is being held on two counts of aggravated sexual assault and one count of aggravated kidnapping.
