SAN ANTONIO (AP) San Antonio's dark-haired mayor is going blonde after promising to dye his hair if the Lanier High School basketball team made it to the playoffs. Mayor Julian Castro has announced on his Facebook page he will make good on the promise. The San Antonio Express-News reports Castro joins members of the basketball team who have a more than 10-year-old tradition of dyeing their hair when they make it into the playoffs.

HOUSTON (AP) An ex-youth pastor and former employee of the Children's Museum of Houston has been arrested and accused of having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old girl. Mellony Lewis remains in the Harris County Jail on a $30,000 bond. It was not immediately known if she had an attorney.

SAN ANTONIO (AP) A North Texas amusement park is installing a six-lane mega-slide, the largest of its kind in the world. The San Antonio Express-News reported Saturday the 60-foot-high slide will debut Memorial Day weekend at Six Flags Hurricane Harbor in Arlington.

HOUSTON (AP) The suburban Houston caretaker of a pet peacock dubbed "Meanie" has shot and killed his feathered friend after the bird fanned his feathers and used his talons to attack several women. The Harris County Sheriff's Office tells KHOU-TV the peacock attacked a woman on Friday while she was being questioned by a deputy investigating a complaint about the bird. The frightened woman fled indoors and the peacock's caretaker used his shotgun to kill the angry bird.
