TERRELL, Texas (AP) Services will be held for a Dallas firefighter who died after being knocked from an icy overpass by a vehicle while responding to a traffic accident. Family, friends and other mourners gather Monday in Terrell (TEHR'-uhl) to remember William Scott Tanksley. Burial will follow at the Restland Cemetery-Garden of Honor in Dallas. Tanksley was killed Feb. 10. The 40-year-old firefighter had been a Dallas firefighter for 14 years. He was married with three children.

HOUSTON (AP) One person has been killed in a crash of an experimental plane near Houston. The plane broke up in flight over San Jacinto County. The Federal Aviation Administration confirms one person was killed. There was only one person aboard the aircraft. The person's identity was not immediately released.

HOUSTON (AP) An influential, wealthy Houston church is considering a split from the nation's largest Presbyterian body. The First Presbyterian Church, the oldest congregation in the city, will vote next week whether it wants to remain with Presbyterian Church USA or join a breakaway faction that wouldn't allow for gay clergy or marriage. Presbyterian Church USA, which the Houston church currently belongs to, recently allowed local congregations to decide if they want to ordain gay clergy.
DALLAS (AP) Dallas police say one person has been killed and six others were injured after rival gangs shot at each other outside a nightclub. Dallas police say they responded to the shooting shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday. They identified the person who was killed as 21-year-old Terrance Carroll. The six who were injured sought medical treatment for injuries that were not life-threatening. Dallas police say they have arrested 21-year-old Eugene Rudd and charged him with unlawful possession of a weapon by felon.
