AUSTIN, Texas (AP) The Democratic candidates for governor and lieutenant governor are rallying their female base, sounding the themes for the general election in November. Wendy Davis, who is running for governor, and Leticia Van de Putte, who is running for lieutenant governor, spoke yesterday to a convention of Texas Democratic Women in Austin.

DALLAS (AP) A 17-year-old is held on $150,000 bond and charged with murder of a man whose body was tossed from a moving vehicle along a busy Dallas freeway. Authorities say Gaspar Enciso was arrested Friday after police tracked his number to texts found on the cell phone of slaying victim Pedro Calixto-Velenta. He was spotted while being pushed out of an SUV during the Tuesday morning rush hour along Dallas' LBJ Freeway.

DALLAS (AP) Dallas police say they've arrested a man and woman believed involved in more than two dozen robberies in recent weeks where the victims were held up on driveways at their homes. The Dallas Morning News reports 51-year-old Charles Hunt and 27-year-old Santana Andrews were arrested Thursday night by officers responding to a 911 call about a robbery.
