HOUSTON (AP) Authorities say a Houston police officer shot dead one of three men who had broken into his townhome overnight. The Harris County Sheriff's Office did not identify the officer, but said he lived in north Harris County and was awakened today by the sound of breaking glass. The two other burglars remain at large.
MCKINNEY, Texas (AP) A Collin County medical examiner's report says a natural cause is most likely in the death of a 10-year-old boy whose body was found in a family bathtub. The boy's mother was charged with murder in the January 29th death at the family's Frisco home. The mother remains free on $50,000 bond.
FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) The German manufacturer of a roller coaster from which a woman fell to her death is blaming Six Flags for the accident. Gerstlauer Amusement Rides filed court papers today related to the lawsuit the woman's family has brought against it and Six Flags after Rosa Esparza's death last year.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) A Texas man faces federal charges of traveling to Missouri to have sex with two underage girls after agreeing to pay $400 to a police officer who posed as their father. The U.S. attorney's office says 40-year-old John Christian was unwittingly communicating with a Kansas City officer on a social media site when he made plans to meet the girls, 11 and 15. Christian was arrested after flying to Kansas City on Saturday and was charged yesterday.
