AUSTIN, Texas (AP) Police say a man and woman have been killed after a suspected drunken driver crashed through barricades set up for the South By Southwest festival. Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo says 23 others were injured in the crash early this morning. The chief says the man also struck a cab before jumping out of his car and trying to run.

DALLAS (AP) A new study has found that there is a $99 million-a-year market for illicit sex in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The study by the nonprofit Urban Institute policy research group for the Justice Department covered eight U.S. urban areas. The research found that commercial sex is almost a billion-dollar industry in the seven of the urban areas alone.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) The state's top criminal appeals court says it's unconstitutional to hand down a life prison term without parole for a 17-year-old defendant. Terrell Maxwell was sentenced in the 2007 fatal shooting of Fernando Santander during a robbery at an Austin apartment complex. The 5-4 ruling left Maxwell's capital murder sentence in place.

DALLAS (AP) Paleontologists from the Perot (puh-ROH') Museum of Nature and Science have discovered a new species of dinosaur. The new discovery has been named Nanuqsaurus hoglundi (na-nuhk-SAW'-ruhs hohg-LUHN'-dee). The scientists say the reptile is a "pint-sized cousin" to the Tyrannosaurus rex.
