AUSTIN, Texas (AP) A suspected drunken driver has been arrested after his vehicle crashed through barricades during South By Southwest in Austin and went into a crowd. The wreck killed a man and a woman riding a moped and leaving at least 23 people hurt. The suspect faces two counts of capital murder and 23 counts of aggravated assault with a vehicle.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) The state's top criminal appeals court has overturned an Austin man's life prison term without parole for capital murder. They say it's unconstitutional to hand down such a sentence for a 17-year-old defendant. Terrell Maxwell was sentenced in the 2007 fatal shooting of Fernando Santander during a robbery at an Austin apartment complex.

DALLAS (AP) The Urban Institute policy research group says the illicit sex market in the Dallas-Fort Worth area is a $99 million-a-year industry. Researchers say Dallas law enforcement officers reported strong ties between Dallas and Oklahoma City. Women and girls are either recruited in Oklahoma City or come to Dallas independently.

DALLAS (AP) Scientists from a Dallas museum have discovered a new species of dinosaur they describe as akin to a pygmy Tyrannosaurus rex. The paleontologists from the Perot (puh-ROH') Museum of Nature and Science say it has been named Nanuqsaurus hoglundi (na-nuhk-SAW'-ruhs hohg-LUHN'-dee). The team speculates that the half-year of darkness and limited food resources factored in the dinosaur's reduced stature.
