AUSTIN, Texas (AP) Eight people remain hospitalized, including two in critical condition, after a deadly Southwest By Southwest festival crowd accident blamed on a suspected drunken driver. Travis County jail records show Rashad Owens of Killeen remained in custody yesterday on a capital murder charge. Bond is $3 million for Owens over the crash early Thursday in which he allegedly drove a car into concertgoers on an Austin street, killing two people and leaving 23 hurt.

HOUSTON (AP) A Houston-area woman has been charged in the death of her boyfriend's 4-year-old daughter after the girl allegedly was beaten. Harris County jail records show 32-year-old Elisena Carmona was being held yesterday on charges of murder and injury to a child by omission. Bond was set at $120,000 for Carmona, who was booked Friday.

MIDLAND, Texas (AP) Clayton Williams Energy Incorporated has sold some wells and leases in Texas for $71 million. The Midland-based oil and gas company on Friday announced it closed the sale on select holdings in Wilson, Brazos (BRAZ'-uhs), La Salle, Frio and Robertson counties.
