HUNTSVILLE, Texas (AP) A former San Antonio rap musician has been executed for a knife attack and robbery that left a recording studio owner dead. Ray Jasper was injected with a lethal dose of pentobarbital yesterday for the November 1998 stabbing death of David Alejandro. Jasper's execution was the third in Texas this year.

LAREDO, Texas (AP) A Texas border county commissioner has been arrested on federal bribery charges. The indictment accuses Webb County Precinct 1 Commissioner Kristopher Montemayor of accepting the use of a new pickup truck in return for promised government jobs for the truck's owner and his wife. The indictment also alleges Montemayor took about $11,000 in cash and electronics equipment worth about $2,700 from an undercover agent.

WACO, Texas (AP) A Waco-based artist has been accused of vandalizing the Prada (PRAH'-dah) Marfa public art installation in West Texas. Joseph Magnano was arrested Tuesday in Wichita County on a criminal mischief warrant. The Jeff Davis County Sheriff's Office said the building near Valentine was found plastered with paint and posters earlier this month.

HOUSTON (AP) Reliant Stadium is being rebranded. The governing board of the Harris County Sports and Convention Corporation voted to rename the Reliant complex after NRG Energy. Reliant Stadium will become NRG Stadium, home of the NFL's Houston Texans. The surrounding Reliant Park becomes NRG Park.
