HOUSTON (AP) The Texas Supreme Court has temporarily blocked a lower court's order that the state prison agency must tell attorneys for two death row inmates the name of the supplier of a new batch of lethal injection drugs. The decision Friday came shortly after an appeals court upheld a state district judge's ruling ordering prison officials to disclose the information. The agency had filed an emergency appeal.
DALLAS (AP) Pilots at regional airline American Eagle are rejecting a contract proposal that they say freezes their pay and cuts health-insurance benefits. About 70 percent of the pilots voting turned down the offer, the Air Line Pilots Association said today.
ROCKWALL, Texas (AP) North Texas authorities have begun the process of identifying jurors for the upcoming trials in the slayings of the Kaufman County district attorney, his chief deputy and his wife. KXAS-TV reports the selection process is expected to take months before the October trial for Eric Williams, a former justice of the peace in Kaufman County, east of Dallas. Williams and his wife, Kim, are accused of gunning down Kaufman DA Mike McLelland, his wife, Cynthia, and prosecutor Mark Hasse.
DALLAS (AP) Dallas police say a 67-year-old man's home was so jammed with clutter that authorities resorted to cutting holes in the roof and using a cadaver dog before his body was finally discovered. Police said the man's body was found yesterday by contractors brought in to remove debris.
